Working Student/Student Assistant
Regulatory Affairs & Quality Management of Digital Medical Devices

On-site in Berlin (S/U Friedrichstraße), remote or hybrid (preferred).

Part-Time (up to 20h/week)

Recovery Cat improves therapy for people with severe mental illness (e.g. schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and relapsing depression) based on digital measurement-based care that provides an outcome-oriented and compassionate treatment experience. We are an official spin-off of Charité and consist of a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, psychotherapists, software developers, product managers and designers.

Task Description

We are currently looking for early-career individuals from all areas to support our entire team in building our quality management system (ISO 13485) and medical device documentation (MDR) to get our medical device onto the market. This is both exciting and challenging, as we are completely building all processes, systems, and documentation from scratch. You can get creatively involved in this endeavor and have a lasting impact in the company. You would be working directly with our Head of Operations & Compliance. However, across the different areas of QMS and Technical Documentation, you would get in touch with all areas of the company - from Psychiatry/Psychotherapy to Coding/Development, Business, Strategy and Admin.

You can set the focus of your activity yourself - there is more than enough to do! Your work could comprise (but would not be limited to) the following exemplary tasks:

  • Support in process management (software development, project management, clinical evaluation, usability engineering, administration) and in process and company development

  • Support in the creation and maintenance of SOPs and other official documents (full documentation lifecycle)

  • Creation of a KPI dashboard and a training plan for all processes in the company

  • Support in the preparation and execution of internal trainings and team workshops (or independent execution)

  • Supporting the project managers (product owners) for our medical device and non-medical device products

  • Support in setting up and maintaining an overarching digital task management and filing system (we are completely paperless)

Expected Qualifications / Your Profile

We develop medical devices in a field that is currently constantly evolving dynamically. In the process, we are all constantly immersed in completely new topics and tasks and work together across disciplines and qualifications. You don't have to know or be able to do everything from the start - come and learn with us. You might have these qualifications as examples (but others are also interesting for us):

  • Studies in the field of medicine, psychology, neuroscience, computer science, business administration, quality management, regulatory affairs, usability engineering, physics or others

  • Training/apprenticeship in regulatory affairs, quality management or quality assurance and now studying something else

We are looking for someone with these interests and skills:

  • Interest or experience in the healthcare/digital health field. If you have already worked on/with medical devices, this is an absolute plus (but definitely not mandatory).

  • Soft skills: structured, independent and careful way of working, communicative and social skills.

  • Interest and experience in working with digital tools (we work with Google Workspace, ClickUp, GitLab, Miro, Figma, Mattermost, Zammad and more).

What we offer

When it comes to typical issues at office jobs, we’re trying to do things differently (and better) from the start. That is why these principles are very important to us:

  • Team Spirit: We think qualifications, hierarchies and disciplines are okay, but we believe more in people, motivation and skills. We have a great team vibe, support each other and regularly eat pizza together.

  • Family- and Life-Friendly Work: individual, flexible working hours and models.

  • No Discrimination: diversity, equal opportunities and fair pay are very important to all of us.

  • Users First: We work closely with our users to develop an app that truly improves their lives or work.

  • Transparency: We develop our product open source because we want cooperation in the healthcare sector so that as many people as possible benefit from innovation. For us, data protection means data economy and is taken very seriously.

  • Agility & Error Culture: Almost all teams work according to agile methods (usually Scrum) and live an open, supportive error culture.

  • Oh, and we also have the usual free office beverages (but that's not why you’d come working with us, is it?).
